Harry Styles almost had his plans for a romantic new year with Taylor Swift ruined after he left his passport at home.
The One Direction signer had spent Christmas at home with his parents in Cheshire but was planning on heading out to spend time with his new girlfriend in the US to ring in the start of 2013 together.
However, forgetful Harry almost put a halt to the celebrations when he left his passport at home.
The star had been driven 180 miles to Heathrow Airport by his mum Anne in time to board his flight at 11.15am on Friday - but when he got to the check-in desk he realised he did not have the vital document on him.
Harry was forced to call for a courier to deliver the passport to the airport for him, leaving him with an eight hour wait before the next flight to Boston took off from the airport at 7.30pm that evening.
A source told The People: "Despite this, he took the whole event in good humour and ridiculed himself for it. He was embarrassed though, especially when he approached the check-in desk only to find he didn't have the passport."
The singer has now been reunited with Taylor after they spent the festive season apart and he will be watching her perform in New York at the annual celebration in Times Square.
