Rio Ferdinand endorsed a description of Ashley Cole as a "choc ice", Cole called the FA a "bunch of tw*ts" and now after the players come the clubs. Because Lincoln City and Newport County have got themselves unprofessionally involved in a bizarre Twitter row over the loan of Jake Thomson.
County tweeted to "confirm that Jake Thomson has joined Lincoln City on a month's loan" at 2pm, adding a link which directed users to a picture of the player in a Newport shirt on the club's Facebook page.
Thomson in a Newport shirt
Then 81 minutes later and against all good judgement and sensibility whoever was in charge of the Lincoln account replied...
Called out as "unprofessional" by a user, the Lincoln account retorted "Surely the unprofessional approach is announcing a loan move that hasn't even happened yet???"
Yes, with three question marks!!!
County have tweeted half-a-dozen times since their 'confirmation' tweet, but have not responded to their fellow Conference National side yet.
