Fernando Llorente Set To Sign For Juventus

Llorente Set For Juve Move

Juventus are poised to sign Athletic Club Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente.

The Italian champions are to hold talks with the 27-year-old Spain striker, who is out of contract in the summer and could complete a free transfer.

Llorente has scored 115 goals in 317 appearances over nine seasons for the Basque club, who said: "Juventus informed Athletic that they will begin negotiations with the player to incorporate him into their squad."

Llorente scored twice against Manchester United last season

Arsenal and Liverpool have both been linked with the strapping striker, who did not feature at Euro 2012 for the tournament winners despite an impressive Primera Liga campaign.

Athletic reached the Europa League and Copa del Rey finals last year but were comprehensively beaten by Atlético Madrid and Barcelona in both ties.

Llorente, who is no longer considered a first-choice striker with Athletic was involved in a training ground row with Bilbao coach Marcelo Bielsa in October and has been subjected to jeers from his own fans after he confirmed he would not sign an extension.
