Sally Hodkin Murder: Jury Chosen In Nicola Edgington Trial

Jury Chosen In Butcher Knife Stabbing

A jury panel has been chosen for the trial of a woman accused of stabbing a grandmother to death in a busy shopping street.

Nicola Edgington denies murdering Sally Hodkin with a stolen butcher knife in Bexleyheath, south east London, in October 2011.

She also denies the attempted murder of a second woman, Kerry Clark, on the same day.

Mrs Hodkin, 58 was stabbed in the neck in an apparently random attack, following the attack on Ms Clark at 8.30am.

After getting a knife from an Asda store, she left Ms Clark with a cut to her neck which did not require treatment, as she waited at a bus stop.

Edgington is then said to have taken a butcher's knife from a shop and attacked Mrs Hodkin in nearby Albion Road.
