HuffPost UK Young Talent: Emily Burg's Incredible Tainted Love Cover

Posted: Updated:

As part of our new Young Talent section, where we recognise and celebrate everything young people have to offer, we're shining the spotlight on one teen who we think has what it takes to make it big.

Meet Emily Burg, the 14-year-old with an incredible voice.

She's part of a band called the Psychedelic Mermaids, composed of her friends Jesse, on guitar, Rosa, on piano and cello, Tiger, vocals, and Natasha, who plays the flute.

"I love singing and playing the ukulele and guitar and that's why I decided to start making covers," the budding singer tells us. "Along with the fact that my band mates said that it would get us more views for our videos together."

"We've been together less than a year – we got together for a band slam at our school and won - and we have only played a few gigs such as Shoreditch Festival, Chats Palace and Stoke Newington town hall for Hackney Jam."\

Although perhaps lacking in experience, the North London schoolgirl is certainly not short of talent.
