Loïc Rémy To Join Newcastle For £8m (TRANSFER TALK)

Rémy Set For £8m Newcastle Move

Newcastle are finally set to fill the void left by Demba Ba as Loïc Rémy edges closer to an £8m switch to the Magpies from Marseille.

The 26-year-old travelled to Tyneside on Sunday and should be confirmed as a Newcastle player by Tuesday at the latest.

Rémy on the Tyne

When he signs, Rémy will become the seventh Frenchman at the club and the second to sign this month after Mathieu Debuchy moved from Lille.

Rémy is the same French striker who did a mini tour of the Premier League in 2010 during the transfer window, turning up at Stoke City's training ground to be greeted by their deadline day posse, and interesting Tottenham and West Ham.

Radamel Falcao will almost certainly leave Atlético Madrid in the summer, with Chelsea long rumoured to be the Colombian's next destination. However the striker apparently prefers France over England.

The Sun claim Falcao would rather join Paris-Saint Germain when he does leave the Spanish capital. Fernando Torres can't be that daunting, can he?

Norwich City could make a move for Celtic's Gary Hooper after manager Chris Hughton admitted they would "like to score more goals".

Hooper has scored 17 times for Celtic this season and despite being linked to a Premier League move in the past would miss out on the chance to face Juventus in the club's round-of-16 Champions League tie.

On an otherwise quiet day of gossip, Romelu Lukaku could stay another season with West Brom on loan from Chelsea, say the Mail.

The 19-year-old Belgian has scored nine goals for West Brom this season after an inactive debut campaign with the Champions League winners.
