There have been attempts to make Mario Kart into real life before - some better than others.
But none of them have ever come this close.
A team of electronics fans and enthusiasts have built a real world Mario Kart track which includes power-ups, weapons, speed boosts, and pretty much everything from the game except the plumber himself.
The project was put together by Waterloo Labs, who spent weeks designing the RFID-based system.
