Massive $22,000 LG 4K TV Finds 300 Early Adopters (PHOTOS)

LG's Ridiculously Massive And Expensive TV Bought By 300 People

It might cost as much as a deposit on a small house, but LG says its latest insanely huge ultra HD TV has found willing buyers.

The television is an 84-inch, 4K screen, which displays content with four times as much clarity as HD.

It also costs $22,000.

But according to LG more than 300 people have stumped up the cash to purchase the screen, despite very little 4K content being available to actually watch on it.

In total the TV has taken in $6.6 million in revenue, which isn't bad.

A Korean news website translated by the Verge made the claim, and added that 4K TVs will eventually find a larger consumer base.

4K TVs were certainly in evidence at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this month, where Sony, Samsung, Toshiba, Panasonic and Sharp all showed off their ultra HD offerings.

But if you do have a spare $22k in your account, hold off for a while yet - until there's actually anything to watch on one you're probably better off using it for something vaguely useful, like a Bluetooth fork.
