Mobile phone retailer Phones 4u has announced it will launch its own network.
LIFE Mobile will launch by the end of 2013, and offer 4G services to Phones 4u customers.
The company said its network will be run on top off EE's existing network as a 'mobile virtual network operator' or MVNO, much like Tesco Mobile.
Details about its tariffs have not been announced, but Phones 4u said it will be priced "competitively" with other providers.
Marketing for LIFE Mobile will begin in March alongside its 3G service, Phones4U said.
Its 4G services will follow "later this year".
In a statement Phones 4u group chief executive Tim Whiting said: "The launch of LIFE Mobile is a very significant step for the Phones 4u business. Our strategic vision is based upon a focus on building ever-stronger relationships with our customers, which we believe is fundamental to our on-going business success.
"We will sell both 3G, and later in 2013, 4G LIFE Mobile tariffs alongside our existing network propositions and are confident the new network will play a key role in driving further growth for our business."
The UK's mobile operators are currently engaged in a lengthy and complex Ofcom auction for new 4G spectrum.
Seven bidders have applied for space to provide 4G LTE, including Everything Everywhere, O2, Three and Vodafone, as well as two conglomerates from Hong Kong and MLL Telecom.
It is thought the auction could raise more than £3.5 billion for the Treasury.
