Oscars 2013: Adele Confirmed To Sing 'Skyfall' Live For The First Time

Adele will perform at the Oscars, it has been confirmed.

The Grammy Award-winning singer will sing her powerful James Bond theme 'Skyfall' for the first time live.

The song, written with Paul Epworth, is nominated for Best Original Song at the 85th Academy Awards and is set to go up against songs from 'Chasing Ice', 'Ted', 'Life Of Pi' and 'Les Miserables' for the title.

It is the first time a Bond film has received an Oscar nomination since 'For Your Eyes Only' in 1981.

The 'Rolling In The Deep' singer has been keeping a low profile since she welcomed her first child last year, but recently returned to the spotlight at the Golden Globe Awards where she picked up a gong for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture.

This year's Oscars will also feature a special tribute to James Bond to mark the character's 50th anniversary on the big screen.
