It was a big night for Kimberley Walsh at the National Television Awards.
The soon-to-be former Girls Aloud singer (with the band confirming that this reunion for album and tour will be their last) was on stage to help collect the Best Reality Show award for her stint in 'Strictly Come Dancing', during which she acquitted herself well and reached the final just before Christmas.

But this wasn't even her biggest moment of the evening. That came when she gave her solo singing career a massive boost with a performance during the show, banging out her version of Randy Crawford's 'One Day I'll Fly Away'.
She looked splendid, but unfortunately the performance wasn't well-received in some quarters (ie Twitter), after she appeared to struggle with some of the higher notes, with some of the harsher voices suggesting she stick to group singing.
Kimberley wasn't unused to taking centre stage without the rest of her girl band. Last year, she made her West End debut in the musical 'Shrek'. Next month sees the release of her debut solo album, 'Centre Stage', a collection of popular musical tune covers.

It didn't help that she was followed on stage by 'X Factor' shock loser Ella Henderson, who stuck to her crowd-pleasing version of Cher's 'I Believe', which brought the audience in the O2 arena to its feet, and by Pudsey, who had his own charms giving it Gangnam style with his trainer Ashleigh.
One viewer wrote on Twitter: "Somebody call the police. Kimberley Walsh just murdered One Day I'll Fly Away at the NTA awards. Thousands of witnesses."
A viewer compared Kimberley unfavourably to Ella, saying: "Have to say, Ella Henderson 's performance is 100 times better than Kimberley Walsh's earlier appearance."
But rallying to her defence, another viewer said she did well for her first solo live TV performance, while another added: "Watching NTAs on catch-up. Yes Kimberley Walsh isn't perfect but she's singing live. Hear that Chezza? LIVE. As in not miming."
Other comments included "I love Kimberley but that was absolutely shocking"..."That Kimberley Walsh performance was stunning as long as you were watching it on mute"... "and Kimberley Walsh, achieving the almost impossible feat of hitting all of the wrong notes..."
