Jason Gardiner Thinks He Saved Dancing On Ice..

Jason Gardiner is sure that Dancing On Ice would not have survived without him, branding the show boring without his cutting comments.

The skating judge is known for his outspoken ways and he's adamant he has saved the programme by coming back this year after he refused to take part in last year's series.

Speaking to The Mirror, Jason said: "ITV did the show without me for a year and it obviously didn’t work, so they asked me back. They realised it desperately needed what I can bring and, in asking me back, they have admitted they were wrong."

He added that when he arrived back, Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean told him that he had brought back the competitive edge that the show needed.

Jason added, "I give the celebrities the fear factor and the motivation to improve and up their game. I never patronise them. They've got enough judges on the panel who are going to do that."

And Jason's claims that he has saved the programme might not be too far off the mark, as the show has seen an impressive increase in viewing figures since the start of the current series, with seven million people now tuning in each week.

This series managed to pack in plenty of controversy before it had even started, with Samia Ghadie reportedly striking up a romance with her dance partner Sylvain Longchambon, with both walking away from their partners.
