A murder inquiry is under way after the body of a young woman was found in an alleyway.
The discovery was made behind Kirby Road in Blackpool, Lancashire, shortly after 9pm on Thursday.
A man and a woman were arrested nearby a short time later, police said.
It is thought the victim may be aged about 16, but formal identification has yet to place.
A spokesman for Lancashire Constabulary said: "A 22-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were arrested near to the scene and are presently being held in police custody on suspicion of murder.
"A police cordon remains in place and police are appealing to anybody with any information that could assist with the investigation to contact them on 101."
Kirby Road is situated a few blocks off the Promenade on the resort's South Shore.
