Enormous 30-Year Video Game Collection On Ebay For $550,000 (PICTURES)

An obsessive video game fan is selling virtually every video game of note ever released for more than half a million dollars.

The single eBay lot includes more than 330 consoles, 6,850 games, 220 controllers and 185 accessories.

It contains every Mario, Zelda, Metal Gear and Final Fantasy game every made, as well as hundreds of promotional items, merchandise and paraphernalia.

The starting bid for the collection? $550,000.

So far, there are no takers.

The user ('videogames.museum') said that he was selling his life's work for reasons on space and sanity.

"I just have too much things and the space to store them is finished long ago," he said. "I realized that if I want to play at least half of my games, I should live two or three entire human lifes".

The scale of the collection is hard even for the user himself to get across - he has taken more than 10,000 photos over two months to try and represent it. But he said it is basically a "history of video games" in a box, running right from Pong to the latest systems.

A PDF containing a list of everything in the lot was posted online, but has currently exceeded its bandwidth on Dropbox.

Many of the items are unopened, and most of the games have never been played, he said.

But it is not the first massive game collection to make it to eBay.

A lot containing every N64 game ever released is currently available for $5,000, and last year a lot of 7,000 games sold for $1.2 million.

Take a look at a few pictures of the collection, below.
