CHART TOPPERS
An ode to the delights of buying second-hand clothes has climbed to the top of the singles chart.
Macklemore And Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz completed their ascent to the number one spot with 'Thrift Shop', which had jumped 22 places to number two last week.
The track has already topped the charts in Australia, New Zealand and the US.
It displaced Dutch dance duo Bingo Players, whose 'Get Up (Rattle)', featuring Far East Movement, had been number one for the past two weeks. That tune slipped to number three.
In the album chart, former number one The Motion Picture Cast Recording of 'Les Miserables' returned to the top, displacing Opposites by Biffy Clyro, which fell to number three.
GIGS TO LOOK OUT FOR
Songstress Liz Lawrence, who released her debut album 'Bedroom Hero' after a live-stream concert from her flat in East London in November 2012, is now set to embark on a more conventional venue tour through the spring.
She also has shows in Germany, Belgium and Holland and a new EP, due out in April, lined-up for 2013.

OPEN YOUR EARS
Last week I had the pleasure of seeing singer/songwriter Josephine, who has recently been touring with Paloma Faith, play live at London's Bush Hall.
Her sound, usually reserved for ancient crackling vinyl, fitted perfectly into the ornately decorated music venue as she captivated the audience with her 50-minute set.
The 30-year-old Mancunian has a rich, classical tone yet feels fresh and unique at the same time - and armed with only her guitar and featuring occasional accompaniment from of a man named Steve, the soulful singer expertly performed a selection of her self-penned tracks from her debut album.
