Justgiving Awards: Vote For The Huffington Post Celebrity Fundraiser Of The Year

POLL: Vote For Celebrity Fundraiser Of The Year

What do Rebecca Adlington, Nell McAndrew and Richard Herring all have in common and what have they got to do with The Huffington Post UK?

They're three of the seven celebrities shortlisted for the 2013 JustGiving Celebrity Fundraiser of the Year award and are joined by actor Tom Hardy, satirical comedy writer Armando Iannucci and musicians Geoff Barrow (Portishead) and Scroobious Pip.

Olympic swimming champion Rebecca Adlington raised £25,000 for The Perfect Day Foundation and Sport In Action

The winner of the award, sponsored by The Huffington Post UK, will be chosen by the public who can vote for their favourite candidate below. Voting will be open until 15 March.

Each celebrity has raised funds and the profiles of a number of charities. For example, Tom Hardy, most recently appearing as super villain Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, raised more than £40,000 after driving across Siberia for Cambridge homeless charity Flack – allowing the charity to avoid closure.

Celebrity Fundraiser is one of 10 categories at the JustGiving Awards, which were inaugurated in 2010 and celebrate extraordinary fundraising achievements. The shortlist for the remaining categories, including Young Fundraiser of the Year and Creative Fundraiser of the Year, will be announced on 22 February.

The Awards are a way of celebrating the achievements of charities, fundraisers and donors who, together, have raised more than £1.4 billion through their JustGiving pages since 2001.
