Aliens: Colonial Marines Is UK's Biggest Game Despite Terrible Reviews

What Reviews? 'Aliens: Colonial Marines' Is UK's Number One Despite Awful Scores

Despite some of the worst reviews of the year, Sega's 'Aliens: Colonial Marines' has topped the UK video game charts.

The action shooter was ridiculed by reviewers for its poor graphics, unfinished story and unimpressive AI - but the Aliens brand is clearly just as strong as ever.

Gamers flocked to pick up the title, according to GfK Chart-Track. Its release was the biggest of the year so far, beating critical favourite Dead Space 3, which was shunted down to second place.

In third place in this week's chart was FIFA 13, which has stayed near the top of the list since its release last year.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Far Cry 3 and Assassin's Creed III also remained at the head of the list.

There were no other new entries in the top 20, and no Nintendo Wii U exclusives in the top 40, according to Eurogamer.
