Police have named a 19-year-old man whose body was found with multiple injuries at a house.

Personal trainer Travis Barber was discovered at a property in Irlams o' th' Height, Salford, yesterday morning following reports of a concern for his welfare.

He was pronounced dead at the scene in Light Oaks Road.

Superintendent Wayne Miller, at Salford, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "We are still in the very early stages of our inquiries and we are working to establish the full circumstances that led to his death.

"Travis was fairly new to the area and worked as a personal trainer in Stockport. If you know him and have any information about his whereabouts over the weekend please get in touch with the police.

"I understand that people in the area will naturally be concerned about what has happened. I want to reassure them that we have a team of officers investigating this matter and we have also deployed additional local officers to the area. If anyone has any concerns or information please come and speak to us."

It is understood that police have not ruled out the possibility that no-one else was involved in the death.
