The list of hazards associated with performing the Harlem Shake can now be expanded from just RSI of the hips and severe embarrassment to include arrest.
Four Egyptian students have met with this fate after filming their own version of the impossibly catchy viral sensation in front of the pyramids in Cairo.
Residents of the neighbourhood where it took place objected when the pharmaceutical students removed their clothes and performed the pelvis-thrusting jig in just their pants.

According the AFP, the four were set upon by a crowd and beaten.
Egypt's strict indecency laws mean the dancers were promptly arrested and charged with committing "a scandalous act".
Since the incident in Egypt another group have posted footage of themselves performing the Shake in front of the pyramids (see below).
It is not yet known if they have been charged with any crime.
The Harlem Shake is believed to have been started by a group of students in a dorm.
It involves dancing to a 2012 heavy bass instrumental track produced by Baauer.
