A group of schoolchildren were reportedly kicked out of a South Korean McDonald’s after ordering £165 worth of French fries.

That’s one heck of a lot of salty carbs, but it does seem slightly puzzling that the fast food joint would be so enraged by this.

Well, it turns out the stunt got up the noses of other diners by delaying their food orders.

What’s more the feeding frenzy got so heated one restaurant employee erupted with: “Stop causing trouble you brats! Get out of here!”, RocketNews24 reported.

McDonald's did not respond to The Huffington Post UK's request for comment on Monday.

The stunt was apparently inspired by a similar event in Japan after a “sale” on French fries rendered the salty snacks a bargain too good for some children to resist, Kotaku reports.

A lack of courtesy towards other diners and staff seems to be cited as the main reason why the stunts have received such derision, as well as the element of waste.

We’re imagining there were some sore stomachs all round too.
