After weeks of anticipation, the Beach Break Live 2013 lineup has at last been revealed - and it looks set to be a corker of a festival.
Brit award nominee Jake Bugg will be headlining the Sunday stage, joined by hotly-tipped new talents talent Lucy Rose, AlunaGeorge and London rapper Devlin, it was revealed on Wednesday.
BBL is keen to establish itself as a platform for new and emerging artists and this year's performers are following in impressive footsteps - Ben Howard and Ed Sheeran have previously played at the five-day student event.
The festival is making history this year by ditching tradition and instead creating the UK's first music holiday. Previously held in South Wales' Pembrey Country Park, the festival is moving back to Cornwall roots and taking over the party town of Newquay.
The festival's main stage will be on the picturesque Fistral Beach
BBL is the UK's biggest student festival and attracts around 20,000 students each year.
With the aim of "changing the face of festival experiences forever", the Cornish surfing town will be transformed into a haven for music-lovers, crammed full of exclusive after-parties, secret rooftop raves, street art and extreme sports.
"The festival world is changing; we need and want to bring our ticket holders more than just musicians on a stage," BBL founder Ian Forshaw says. "Beach Break Live has always had its community and the experience at its heart and over the years we have grown to become one of the biggest festivals in the UK.
"Now we’re playing the game changer, we’re bringing something that no one else can or will, we’re transforming not just Newquay but the whole experience, I cannot wait for what is set to be the ultimate music holiday. Imagine Rio Carnival surfing the perfect turquoise wave of Cornwall!"
Students can chill out at the harbour-side cinema, enjoy pool parties and beach discos or flock to the main stage on surfers' haven Fistral Beach.
Festival-goers are encouraged to use local businesses and accommodation wherever possible but glamping, camping and caravan options are available for those wanting a more traditional festival experience.
