Police have arrested a woman for reportedly trying to sell her children on Facebook.

VanHorn is said to have offered to sell her two-year-old and 10-month-old children for a combined price of £2,600, or just £670 for the older child alone, the Oklahoman writes.

Misty VanHorn denies two counts of trafficking children

According to the police report, VanHorn messaged a woman on Facebook saying: “Just come to Sallisaw, it’s only 30 minutes away and I’ll give you all of her stuff and let y’all have her forever for $1,000.”

The unidentified buyer alerted the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, who in turn notified the police.

A neighbour told 5News Online VanHorn had been making earlier attempts to raise cash for her boyfriend's bail bond.

VanHorn has pleaded not guilty to two counts of trafficking children and is currently being held on a £33,000 bond.

Each felony charge carries up to ten years in prison or a £6,700 fine.

The children have been taken into the custody of the state.
