Andrew Lloyd Webber TV Special To Include Performances From Nicole Scherzinger And Kimberley Walsh

Stars Line Up For Webber TV Special

Andrew Lloyd Webber is to debut new songs from his forthcoming musical about the Profumo affair in a TV special marking his four decades of West End hits.

Stars such as Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberley Walsh, Melanie C and Myleene Klass are to take part in the programme performing tracks from much-loved shows such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Cats and Evita.

There will also be interviews with figures such as Simon Cowell, Sir Michael Caine and Sir Alex Ferguson.

Composer Lloyd Webber has recently been devoting himself to a production about Stephen Ward, a key figure in the Profumo scandal which rocked the government in the early 1960s. The first track will be performed by the best-selling Montenegrin classical guitarist Milos Karadaglic.

The 90-minute special is to be hosted by Michael Ball and will also feature Il Divo and Samantha Barks.

Lloyd Webber joked: "I said I would only do it if it wasn't some po-faced tribute to a bloke who's about to collect his bus pass. I still don't know what I'm letting myself in for, especially as Simon Cowell has filmed an interview for the show."

Andrew Lloyd Webber: 40 Musical Years is to be screened by ITV on Easter Sunday.
