Samsung: Galaxy S4 Will Not Have Eight Cores In The UK

Samsung's Shocking S4 Downgrade For UK Customers

Samsung's eight-core behemoth phone the Galaxy S4 has understandably caused a lot of excitement since its announcement last week.

Unfortunately it won't actually ship with eight cores in the UK.

Samsung has just admitted that the GS4 will not reach out shores with eight cores, but will only have four.

Instead of the octacore 1.6GHz Exynos 5 processor, it will have a 1.9GHz quad-core chip.

Other markets will still get the more powerful model.

According to Trusted Reviews, who broke the news, Samsung has not given any reason for the downgrade, though it is thought to be related to the availability of LTE by region.

It is possible that the UK will see the eight-core model later, of course. But we have no word on that.

Other than the processor the GS4 features a 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera and a five-inch, super HD screen.

On Tuesday Carphone Warehouse said that it had received four times as many pre-registrations for the GS4 than it took in last year for the S3.
