You may have already had a sneaking suspicion but the Met Office has confirmed that this is indeed the coldest Easter since records began.
Braemar, a village in the Scottish Highlands, measured -12.5C overnight, well below the previous record of -9.8C set in 1960.
Typical temperatures for this time of year are between 10C to 13C.
This time last year the country was basking in bright sunshine and a now almost unimaginable high of 23.6C was recorded in Aberdeenshire on the 27th March.
The month as a whole is set to be the coldest March since 1962 with an average mean temperature of 2.5C.
The rest of the week is to remain cold but will be sunny and dry with a low risk of showers.
Wind chill from the so-called "beast from the east" will make temperatures feel even colder.
