Aussie Billionaire To Build Real-Life Jurassic Park

An Australian billionaire has announced he will build a full-scale 'Jurassic Park' dinosaur theme park with robots.

Clive Palmer, who is already committed to building the 'Titanic II', has ordered 117 robotic dinosaurs from central China, according to The Australian.

He already has a T-rex (named Jeff) and a omeisaurus ('Bones') at the Palmer Coolum Resort on the Sunshine Coast.

Palmer's new dinos include a brachiosaurus weighing more than 1,200 kg. He has also ordered a 7-metre tall mamenchisaurus, he said in a statement.

"If you've seen Jeff and Bones, well you haven't seen anything yet," Palmer said in a statement.

The robotic animals aren't able to walk, but can sway their tails, appear to breathe and blink their eyes.

The dinosaur park is controversial for local residents who say it could cheapen the area.

But the plans - which according to local media also include a motor museum, gallery, tracked car ride and a putt-putt golf course - appear to be going ahead.

Palmer said the dinosaurs won't be in view of the golf course.

Meanwhile his nine-deck, 840-room Titanic II is set for a maiden voyage from Southampton to New York in 2016.
