John Michie is set to leave his Coronation Street role as killer Karl Munro.
But his reign of terror on the cobbles may not be over just yet, reported the Daily Star.
Apparently Karl could be lining up Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) as his next victim, having already bumped off Dev's estranged wife Sunita (Shobna Gulati).
A soap insider told the paper: "Will Karl commit a second murder?
"Karl knew what he was doing when he finished Sunita off in hospital. He's got the weight of the world on his shoulders and fans will have to wait and see what punishment the soap gods dish out."
John, 56, will leave the ITV series later this year when his character's storyline comes to an end.
He has signed a six-month contract extension as script writers have an explosive summer lined up for Corrie villain Karl.
The Weatherfield murderer was responsible for the blaze that engulfed the Rovers Return and later killed ex-lover Sunita while she was in hospital, to stop her from revealing his guilty secret.
Dev could be in danger of becoming the next person Karl goes after as the shopkeeper seems to be on the verge of discovering what he has done.
He tells Karl: "I can't stop now. I feel close to something, I can feel it. I don't want people thinking the worst of Sunita. I've got to do what I've got to do."
