Gökhan Gonul was left in a bloody daze paid after after receiving an accidental boot to the face from Nicolás Gaitán in Fenerbahçe's Europa League semi-final defeat at Benfica.
The 28-year-old defender was kicked in the head when Gaitán attempted a left-footed volley at the Estadio da Luz, lying motionless for several minutes.

Once he had regained his senses, Gonul will have been informed of Fenerbahçe's 3-2 aggregate loss, as Benfica progressed to the Europa League final.
Former Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt cancelled out Gaitán's opener from the penalty spot, however an Óscar Cardozo double set up a Benfica-Chelsea final in Amsterdam in two weeks time.
