This week in pictures began with the Ohio kidnapping victims Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight who were found after being missing for over a decade.

One the the glitziest and most glamourous celebrity events The 2013 Met Ball gala kicked off and opted for a punk dress code, However the internet was sent into a floral storm over Kim Kardashian's choice of dress with comparisons made from sofa covers to Mrs Doubtfire

And not forgetting the powerful images from Bangladesh of a garment worker who was rescued , after being trapped for 17 days within the rubble of the collapsed factory and miraculously surviving...All in pictures of the week
