Panorama will broadcast unseen footage from the Hillsborough disaster in their investigation "Hillsborough: How They Buried The Truth".
The hour-long programme, which will be aired at 9pm on Monday 20 May on BBC1, will detail British football's worst disaster, when 96 Liverpool fans died during the Reds' 1989 FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest.
Reporter Peter Marshall "asks why a succession of official investigations left the truth hidden for a generation", says the Radio Times.
The unseen footage reveals "a failure by the emergency services" and "how lives might have been saved".
Marshall's exploration will also detail how subsequent inquiries were misled.
Last month it was confirmed a new inquest into the deaths will take place in "early 2014".
Lord Justice Goldring cited Anne Williams' recent death as a "powerful reminder" of the fresh inquest's urgency.
Mrs Williams, whose 15-year-old son Kevin died at Hillsborough, died from cancer aged 60 in April. She was one of the loudest voices throughout the Hillsborough campaigners' efforts for justice.
