Sir Alex Ferguson's Final Game: Manchester United Draw 5-5 At West Brom (PICTURES)

It's Goodnight From Me

Sir Alex Ferguson's 1,500th and final match in charge as Manchester United manager ended in enthralling fashion as West Bromwich Albion fought back to draw 5-5 at the Hawthorns.

Romelu Lukaku hit a hat-trick as Baggies rallied from 2-5 down to score three goals in five minutes for a sensational draw.

Ferguson was granted a guard of honour by both teams before waving to the travelling United fans, who brought a nostalgic 70s vibrance to the terraces, serenading the Scot's successor David Moyes to the tune of Slade.

Shinji Kagawa opened the scoring before a Martin Olsson own goal and Alex Büttner struck to extend the Barclays Premier League champions' lead.

James Morrison reduced United's lead and substitute Romelu Lukaku made it 2-3 shortly after the break, with a helping hand from United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard.

However Robin van Persie quickly pounced for his 30th goal of the season and Javier Hernández regained United's three-goal lead.

Yet United expertly imitated their hosts' porous defending as two goals from Lukaku and Youssouf Mulumbu in as many minutes made it 4-5. The troublesome Lukaku then bundled the ball in to make it 5-5 for his hat-trick.
