Singing contest The Voice has been commissioned for a third series.
The first series of the BBC1 show achieved average audience figures of 9.2 million making it the corporation's most successful entertainment launch for a decade.
The current series is also drawing in plenty of viewers, with an average of 8.5 million per episode.
Mark Linsey, controller, entertainment commissioning, said: "The Voice has been a huge success for BBC One.
"Finding a Saturday night break-out hit is incredibly difficult but this show hit the ground running and it's fantastic to ensure its future on the channel."
Executive producer Moira Ross, who is also head of entertainment at Wall to Wall which makes the programme, said: "The Voice is a global format phenomenon and it's been an extraordinary ride crafting it into a much watched and loved show for BBC One audiences.
"I'm thrilled to be continuing that journey."
