London War Memorial Graffiti Vandal Suspect Caught On CCTV (PICTURES, VIDEO)

WATCH: Suspect In War Memorial Vandalism Caught On CCTV

This is the man at the centre of the investigation into graffiti daubed on a war memorial.

The word 'Islam' was sprayed onto the £7 million Bomber Command memorial in London's Green Park.

The man is dressed in black

Experts have so far failed to repair the damage done in the early hours of Monday.

The footage shows a man walking around the memorial, and appearing to spray the wall, just after 3am.

The footage was captured by the Bomber Command Association

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said officers were examining the footage and that the investigation was "very much still ongoing".

No arrests have been made so far.

Similar graffiti was daubed on the nearby Animals in War memorial, also in the aftermath of the killing of Drummer Lee Rigby in Woolwich.

Gerry Abrahams, 90, of Margate, Kent, who flew more than 31 bombing missions, told the Daily Express: "If anyone knows who this man is, please tell the police. He should be brought to justice. I am shocked and appalled by this vandalism."
