Sky is said to be in talks with Microsoft over a potential tie-in with the new Xbox One console.

Details of the talks are sketchy, but one idea - that the broadcaster may offer a subsidised console to new customers - has already been rejected by the broadcaster.

MCV had previously quoted anonymous sources who said the new Xbox could be offered either as a set-top box or a "companion device".

Sky later responded to the story, and said "we have no plans to sell Xbox hardware as part of a Sky subscription".

But it did state that it had a "longstanding partnership" with Microsoft "by which we distribute our content via Sky Go and NOW TV on Xbox."

"We look forward to continuing to work with them as part of our commitment to giving our customers more ways to watch Sky programming in addition to their Sky+ HD box."

Exactly how Sky will work with the Xbox One is unknown, but it seems clear that similar integration with Sky Go and Now TV is on the cards.
