Blog: Dragons & Lasers

student blog of the week

What's your blog all about?

I called it Dragons & Lasers because it's the two coolest things I could think of at the time! I'll be using it to upload my various short films and other film related work which could be music videos, film trailers and other similar stuff.

Describe your blog in three words

My Film Portfolio

Why did you start your blog?

Well I'm a film student and I need a way to get my work out there, a sort of online portfolio if you will, and I thought a blog would be the best platform.

How long have you been running it?

I've only just started my blog, and have only been running it for a few weeks. Right now I only have a couple of videos which include the first thing I had ever filmed when I first picked up the camera at the inexperienced age of 16 which I uploaded as a sort of reference so I can see how I've been improving as I continue to upload more films. Right now it's very bare bones but I plan on uploading my work as often as I can. I am more active on my twitter account (Ketchups92) and tweet practially every day!

What makes it different from the rest?

Well I'm not sure how many other blogs out there that are like mine, but I'll be uploading as many different types of short films as I can because I don't want my work to get stale or have too much of any one genre. The purpose really is to show case my diversity and to push myself outside of my comfort zones and to really try and challenge myself as a filmmaker.

Who would be your dream guest blogger?

I'll be honest, I don't REALLY know many bloggers out there, and the ones I do know are pretty unrelated to my blog. I guess my dream guest blogger would be someone famous within my industry like Christopher Nolan or Speilberg! If I had to choose out of the bloggers I do know, and love, I suppose I'd quite like whoever runs the "I ****ing love Science" FB page because I learn something new from it every day!

What was your last blog post about?

My last post was a bloopers reel of a short comedy sketch I'm working on which is a parody of DnD.
