Laura Robson eased into the third round at Wimbledon with a straight-sets victory against Mariana Duque Marino.

Robson won 6-4 6-1 inside 90 minutes at the All England Club in what is her best performance at the Championships.

Centre Court's roof was closed for Friday's first match but Robson didn't slip up on the grass, and the 19-year-old will face the world number 71, New Zealand's Marina Erakovic, in the third round.

Robson, who beat Maria Kirilenko on Tuesday, did not match her virtuoso performance earlier in the week but benefitted from facing a vastly inferior opponent.

The duo shared five breaks in the opening set, with Duque Marino saving set point at 2-5 down before edging back to 4-5 as Robson hit three double faults in her final service game.

However Duque Marino's impotent serve was exposed again by the British number two, who took a one-set lead against the Colombian.

Duque Marino's dire serving further regressed in the second as Robson broke and addressed her own anxious service game to race into a 3-0 lead.

Another break preceded a faultless final service game for a comprehensive victory.

"I didn't think I played my best, my timing was off a bit but I had to accept that and deal with it," Robson told the BBC.
