The week may have started with a few sore heads as one of our favourite annual festivals came to an end with performances from Arctic Monkeys, Mumford & Sons, Rita Ora and non other than the legendary Rolling Stones who came back to rock the stage making their first ever appearance at Glastonbury.
Well-wishers continue to stay strong for former south african president Nelson Mandela who is entering his fourth week in hospital. Further north fireworks lit the sky as Egyptian opposition protesters celebrated in Tahrir Square after President Morsi was ousted in a military coup.
And as the finals approach for Wimbledon 'Murray Mania' seems to have well and truly kicked in after a great two-set down comeback beating Spain's Fernando Verdasco.
And it just wouldn't be right if we missed out our friends in the animal kingdom, this week saw a rabbit in a hoodie go missing, A turtle addicted to smoking and a rare white tiger celebrated it's first birthday.…all in our pictures of the week
