The 2014 Tour de France, which will take in the Yorkshire countryside and London, begins exactly a year today, so it is appropriate to take a peek at the route which awaits for the cyclists.

Starting on Saturday 5th July 2014, the first stage in Yorkshire will see the riders go through Ilkley and Skipton, and then through the heart of the Dales to Leyburn in North Yorkshire before turning south to the stage finish in Harrogate.

The second stage will begin in York and take in Keighley, Haworth - famous as the home of the Brönte sisters - Hebden Bridge and Huddersfield with a finish in Sheffield.

The Olympic homage will see another stage of the race end in the Mall in central London - the finishing line for the road races at London 2012 - after doing a circuit of the Olympic Park in Stratford.
