Things not to do when you're on the run from the police, no.2: tweet 'Catch me if you can'.
Yet that's exactly what 60-year-old Wanda Podgurksi did. The former Amtrak employee had been on the run since she was convicted of disability and insurance fraud in January - but blew her cover when she went on Twitter and posted the tweet 'Catch me if you can', thought to be aimed at District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis.
Three weeks later, she was found and arrested in Mexico. “The defendant in this case was brazen in both the large-scale fraud she committed and the way she mocked the criminal justice system,” said Dumanis.
If only Harrison Ford had done this in 'The Fugitive', eh? Tommy Lee Jones would have caught him a whole lot quicker...
