'Big Brother' Star Nikki Grahame Reveals She Was Sectioned Last Year

'I Was Sectioned'

One of Big Brother's most famous housemates, Nikki Grahame, has revealed how her father was forced to have her sectioned last year.

The 31-year-old, who became famous for her temper tantrums after entering the 'Big Brother' house in a pink Playboy bunny costume, told Closer magazine that her father made the tough decision after she overdosed on pills in April 2012.

Grahame said she reached a low point after her mother moved to Dorset and was only eating 1,200 calories a day - 800 less than the recommended amount.

She explained: "I took some sleeping tablets and kind of slept for about three days. Everyone was ringing me and, in the end, an ambulance was called and my door got knocked down.

"Throughout the years I managed to avoid being sectioned, but this time it was taken out of my hands."

Grahame was rushed to hospital, and was later sectioned by her father David.

She has in the past revealed that she spent most of her adolescence in psychiatric hospitals, battling with anorexia. And she has spoken at length about the condition in her two books 'Dying To Be Thin - The True Story Of My Lifelong Battle Against Anorexia' released in 2009 and 'Fragile - The True Story of My Lifelong Battle With Anorexia' released in 2012.

Grahame last appeared on TV in Big Brother's 2010 Ultimate edition, where she was the only housemate to represent Big Brother 7 as a contestant.

She isn't the only reality TV star to open up about an attempted suicide recently...

Former 'TOWIE' star Maria Fowler disclosed her mental health battle in the past few weeks and 'X Factor' star Rylan Clark said he wanted to kill himself whilst appearing on the ITV singing contest.
