Downton Abbey Girls Get Gothic For Love Magazine

Downton Abbey Girls Get Gothic For Love Magazine

Introducing Downton Abbey's leading ladies as you've never seen them before. Jessica Brown Findlay (Lady Sybil), Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary), and Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith) star in Love magazine's latest issue as otherwordly beings, styled by Love's Editor-in-Chief Katie Grand and photographed by the famous fashion duo Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott.

After admitting that she hadn't been interested in the show, Grand revealed that a certain fashion designer suggested she watch it. "...Marc Jacobs kept saying I'd love it and that I had to watch it. So I tried watching the Christmas special and couldn't get into it. But then I was ill in January and started at the beginning and became addicted. I've now watched it three times over!"

So we're guessing that Grand was eager to style the Downton girls into these rather spooky, yet oh-so-fashion savvy cover stars.

Dressed in vintage Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen, the trio have been transformed, with the help of some crazy candyfloss-like hair and smudged crayola-coloured makeup. What would Lady Grantham have to say?

Love 8 'A Costume Drama' Autumn/Winter 2012 goes on sale 30 July.
