First Lady Of Fashion: Michelle Obama Steals The Limelight In Jason Wu At The Inaugural Ball

The Inaugural Ball at the Washington Convention Centre during the 57th Presidential Inauguration in Washington should really have been all about Barack Obama.

But every pair of eyes was surely on his First Lady (of fashion), Michelle Obama, when she stepped out on stage in a traffic-stopping ruby-red gown by Jason Wu - the very designer she chose for the couple's first Inaugural Ball four years ago.

Mrs O looked simply stunning in the velvet and chiffon creation, which had been custom-made for her, and she teamed the gown with Jimmy Choo heels, a diamond ring by Kimberly McDonald - and a fabulous new fringe that appeared to knock years off her.

Stars came out in force for the inauguration, with Katy Perry and John Mayer spotted in the crowd, and Beyoncé putting in a powerful performance of the national anthem.

What do you think of Michelle's frock? We think it was particularly well red...
