The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge touched down in Singapore this morning, to kick off their nine-day tour of Asia. While Team MyDaily had been hoping for big things on the fashion front from Kate (could she try colour-blocking like her sister?), it hasn't got off to a good start.
The Duchess arrived at the Singapore Botanical Gardens in this baby pink design from Jenny Packham and frankly, it looks a 1980s dressing gown with shoulder pads to us. However, style aside, we can see why she chose it.
If you look closely, the dress is embroidered with an orchid print, which ties in well with the fact that the royal couple were at the gardens to view an orchid dedicated to Princess Diana. In fact, the style actually reminds us of a dress that Diana wore in 1983:
So now we see where Kate was going with this outfit - a tribute to her late mother-in-law. A nice touch, but not her best style moment to date.
On the upside, we do love Kate's second outfit of the day...
