Royal Family Gets The Blues At Royal Ascot

The Queen, joined by Princess Eugenie, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, attended the first day of Royal Ascot and the colour of choice appeared to be blue (although no-one had told Camilla).

The Queen arrived wearing sky blue Stewart Parvin topped with a matching hat designed by Rachel Trevor-Morgan. Gambling fans amongst you might be interested to know that bookies had an inkling this might happen and gave the shortest odds on the Queen wearing this colour. She's also down for a blue hat on Ladies' Day so we'll have to see if her fashion habits are as predictable as it seems...

Princess Eugenie went for a teal and black dress with an on-trend (read: ubiquitous) peplum detail and a little train. Up top was a matching black and teal pillbox hat.

Even Prince Charles managed a sprinkling of blue in the form of a cornflower buttonhole but his wife Camilla struck out on a fashion tangent wearing top to toe cream. A risky move but we think it paid off.

And who might the royals have seen? Well, any of this lot:
