Kanye West Allegedly Attacks Photographer At LAX Airport (VIDEO, PICTURES)

WATCH: Kanye Scuffles With Paparazzi

Police are investigating a scuffle between rapper Kanye West and a cameraman at Los Angeles International Airport, where paparazzi are known to lurk in the hope of snapping celebrities.

Sgt Steve Savala of LAX Police said witnesses were being interviewed about Friday's incident to compile a report for detectives.

TMZ posted a video of the alleged incident, showing West being thronged by cameras while trying to get into a waiting white Mercedes.

As flashbulbs illuminate his face, West accuses the paparazzi of trying to provoke him "so I have to pay you, like, 250,000 dollars". He then lunges at a photographer's camera and tries to wrestle it away.

A police officer tells them to break it up before West is chauffeured away.

West has had similar run-ins with paparazzi at the Los Angeles airport before, trading barbs with photographers who follow his every move.

The rapper's critically beloved album Yeezus debuted at No 1 on the Billboard 200 charts last month, but sales have dropped off in the weeks since.

West's other recent debut - his daughter, North, with reality television star Kim Kardashian - was one month old this week.
