Royal Baby: CNN's Victoria Arbiter Congratulates Kate For Having A Boy 'First Time' (VIDEO)

CNN Expert Appears To Have Forgotten It's 2013

A CNN royal commentator has appeared to confuse the current date with 1513, rather than 2013, congratulating the Duchess of Cambridge on having a baby boy on her first go.

"I can't believe we finally, after all this waiting, know that we have a boy," Victoria Arbiter said shortly after the birth was announced.

Unable to contain her relief that the Duchess would now avoid having her head chopped off, Arbiter continued: "My first thought, I have to say, was this is how brilliant a royal Kate is."

"There are women throughout British royal family history that have panicked over not being able to deliver a boy. And here we are - Kate did it first time."

Arbiter is not the only Royal commentator who appears to have been driven to the brink.

On the BBC’s Six O’Clock news, royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell, told viewers, "we have no news and no idea what’s happening."

Kay Burley, the Sky News presenter, hunkered down outside the Lindo wing for a good ten hours, manhandling bemused bystanders onto camera to ask them what sex they thought the baby would be, once describing a Royal Baby girl as a "safe bet" and speculating what colour dress Pippa would wear to visit.

The Irish Metro was one of the few papers around the world to keep its sense of perspective. 'Famous woman gives birth', was the headline.
