Porn Images Plastered Across Website Of Tory MP Claire Perry After Hack

Claire Perry, the Tory MP who led the high-profile campaign to launch a "porn filter" to block adult content from UK browsers, has had her website hacked and obscene images plastered across the homepage.

And now Paul Staines, founder of the Guido Fawkes blog, has said he will sue Perry for suggesting it was he who hacked her website.

Devizes MP Perry has been vocal in her support for the Prime Minster's plan for online child protection, and has acted as an adviser on the commercialisation and sexualisation of childhood.

David Cameron announced this week an agreement of internet service providers to provide all customers with an unavoidable choice to install an "opt-in" switch to allow users to view porn, which Perry called a "comprehensive and pragmatic approach to tackling the key issues which threaten the safety of our children online."

Perry's office told HuffPostUK she would not comment on the allegations.

But Perry, whose website is now up and running again, launched a bizarre Twitter rant against Guido Fawkes, aka Staines, appearing to blame him for the porn hack.

Staines in turn ran a poll on his website asking if he should sue Perry for the allegations, with more than 85% of his readers voting in favour.

Guido Fawkes early on Wednesday posted a screengrab of the hacked site.

Perry, apparently confusing a screengrab with a link, tweeted that Guido Fawkes was “hosting a link that distributed porn via my website”.

She then added: "Apologies to anyone affected by the hacking of my website sponsored by @GuidoFawkes - proves so clearly what we are dealing with."

Perry also threatened to complain to the editor of the Sun on Sunday, where Guido Fawkes has a column.

"They are without any foundation, merit or a shred of evidence to back them up," the Guido Fawkes blog said. "Guido suspects it is based on Perry’s dislike of the blog bringing the pushy MP back down to earth occasionally."
