Thirty new peerages were doled out today to a glittering array of party donors, former political advisers and MPs.

Some are controversial characters and others, as a UKIP spokesperson fumed, are "the establishment". But what about the party donors? Which businesspeople have been lucky enough after supporting a political party, to be drafted into the House of Lords?

The list of peers includes 14 Conservatives, 10 Liberal Democrats, 5 Labour and the first Green peer, former London Mayoral candidate Jenny Jones.
