Ryan Gosling To Play Batman?

Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin are reportedly in the running to play Batman in the new Superman film.

The Gangster Squad co-stars are just two of the big names up for the role of the caped crusader in the eagerly anticipated Batman vs Superman project, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Joe Manganiello, Richard Armitage, Max Martini and Matthew Goode are also contenders for the part.

The six actors are said to be "the top names surfacing at this stage".

Sources have said that movie bosses want their Bruce Wayne/Batman to be in his late 30s or around 40 and to be "established and rugged".

However, the movie is still in the early stages, with the script still being written, and director Zack Snyder is apparently only just starting to think about actors.

Man Of Steel director Zack announced the film last month. He made a surprise appearance at Comic-Con to confirm he was making another Superman film and that it would include Batman - the first time the two superheroes will be united on the big screen.

The filmmaker reimagined Superman in his June blockbuster Man Of Steel, starring Henry Cavill and Amy Adams.
