This is the incredible moment a mother and her three-month-old baby were rescued from the rubble following an earthquake in China on Saturday (April 20).

The pair were rescued after the 6.6-magnitude earthquake in China's southwestern Sichuan province. The mum is reportedly doing well in hospital, but the baby is badly injured.

It is reported the mother used her body as a human shield to protect her baby when the earthquake hit and debris began to fall.

More than 200 people are believed dead, and 11,500 injured following the country's worst earthquake in three years.
